Your new company
Hays Manufacturing are working with this innovative company that provides a range of services and solutions to various industries in Tasmania and Victoria. Focussed on heavy vehicles, construction equipment and marine services, they are committed to growth, customer satisfaction and a respectful team culture, and have a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement.
Your new role
Due to an increased workload, they are now seeking the services of an experienced heavy diesel mechanic to take on a position within the organisation. Based in their workshop in the northern suburbs of Hobart, you will be responsible for performing routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines and components. You will also troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues, ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used, and provide excellent customer service and communication skills. Some field service and site work may also be required.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered, the following are essential:
- Trade Qualification in diesel mechanics
- Relevant experience working on heavy vehicles
- Strong communication
- Excellent diagnostics skills
- Current motor vehicle licence.
Applications will also be considered if you have a light vehicle qualification and are looking to move into heavy vehicles.
What you'll get in return
This is a permanent full-time position and an annual salary will be negotiated in line with qualifications and experience. There is also the opportunity to work a 9-day fortnight as well as overtime.
