**The Opportunity**

Due to a recent vacant position within the region, our Tasmanian division has an exciting opportunity for a trade qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic / HD Fitter to join our team. In this role, your key focus will be to provide preventative and breakdown maintenance on a wide range of Hitachi Construction and Mining equipment. Responsibilities include:

- Performing onsite repairs on a wide range of equipment
- Attending to site breakdowns within Hobart and surrounding areas
- Undertaking diagnostic work
- Liaising with a network of customers within the territory, whilst building strong relationships
- Working with internal technical support staff to achieve successful maintenance
- Working primarily a Monday to Friday roster, this permanent role will allow you to access OEM training while you build a long-term career in a global company.

To be successful in this role you will:

- Ensure the HCA Safety Culture is embraced, displayed and driven from within - safety takes priority over everything else
- Hold relevant Australian (or Australian recognised) mobile plant trade qualifications
- Have experience, knowledge and understanding of civil and mining equipment
- Have a strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously within remote areas
- Have good communication and customer service skills with the ability to build long term relationships
- Have great technical knowledge and diagnostic ability (excellent technical knowledge of Hitachi mining equipment would be highly advantageous)
- Proven ability to work autonomously and be competent in making decisions to support the customers
