McDermott Aviation is Australia's largest privately-owned helicopter company, headquartered in Cooroy, Queensland. For over 40 years, we've delivered critical services including aerial firefighting, heavy lifting, and emergency response across Australia, Europe, and the USA.

We operate a fleet of over 50 helicopters and employ a dynamic team across engineering, operations, and logistics. We are looking for a proactive
Business Support Officer
to keep operations running smoothly and work closely with pilots and operational staff in a fast-paced, dynamic aviation environment.

The Role
Provide essential administrative and operational support to managers, pilots, and crew. You'll help maintain licensing, rostering, training records, and ensure day-to-day operations run efficiently.

What You'll Do

  • Manage pilot, staff, and crew licensing and training records
  • Assist with rostering, leave management, and payroll
  • Coordinate inductions and training for new staff
  • Liaise with teams, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Provide safety updates and support operational tasks
  • Perform general admin: reporting, scheduling, and data entry

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in administration, rostering, or aviation operations
  • Strong computer skills – Excel, Teams, Word, SharePoint
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Current driver's license; aviation knowledge is a bonus
