Your contribution:
To provide clinical advice to the Director of Forensic Disability that reflects analysis of clinical, legislative and system issues, and to undertake tasks and activities that contribute to the proper and efficient administration of the Forensic Disability Act Your responsibilities
As a Principal Advisor you will:
Provide clinical advice to the Director of Forensic Disability in relation to sensitive and complex case matters including high-level problem-solving.
Undertake monitoring and compliance activities, case and service reviews to contribute to the continuous improvement and development of systems and strategic initiatives to support the care and detention of clients of the Forensic Disability Service.
Maintain cultural capability, commit to self-directed learning regarding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and to contribute to a culturally safe and inclusive workplace.
Establish and maintain collaborative and effective partnerships with relevant stakeholders to support quality service delivery to clients of the Forensic Disability Service and to contribute to services and systems to better meet the needs of individuals on Forensic Orders (Disability).
Provide advice, education, training and information for service providers in relation to the Act and in accordance with evidence-based practice to contribute to client rehabilitation, habilitation and safe community inclusion.
Collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data, and identify risk, emerging issues and trends.
Prepare and present comprehensive reports, data collection, briefings and correspondence to support the Directors key functions.
Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the Department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
Your mandatory requirements:
Degree qualifications in Allied Health, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences (including Forensics, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities), or Nursing (Learning Disabilities, Mental Health or Psychiatric).
Demonstrated forensic disability experience and/or skills in supporting people with disabilities who present with high and complex needs and behaviours of concern.
