The role 

The Systems Accountant at WA Primary Health Alliance is responsible for maintaining and optimising the organisation's financial systems, with a strong focus on the Oracle ERP platform (Aspire). Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role ensures integrity, efficiency, and continuous improvement of financial modules and workflows, enabling accurate financial tracking and strategic decision-making. The systems Accountant collaborates closely with Finance, Procurement, and IT teams to integrate procurement processes, automate reporting, and enhance data governance. They provide technical support and training to system users, lead system enhancements, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and audit requirements. This role is key to driving operational excellence and aligning financial systems with WAPHA's strategic goals.

Location: WAPHA Head Office, Level 2, 1 Hood Street, Subiaco (Hybrid Role)

Employment Type: Full-Time Maximum Term contract for 2 years

Salary: Band 6 $140k Plus 12% Superannuation

Key tasks and responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Maintain and configure Oracle ERP (Aspire) financial modules to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Contract Management teams to integrate workflows and improve financial data mapping.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline finance and procurement processes.
• Provide day-to-day technical and functional support to ERP users across Finance and Procurement.
• Develop and deliver training materials to enhance system utilisation and user confidence.
• Ensure ERP configuration supports financial compliance, audit readiness, and accurate reporting.
• Monitor and improve data governance practices, including data accuracy, validation, and cleansing.
• Liaise with IT and other operational teams to align system capabilities with business needs.
• Lead or support cross-functional projects that enhance financial systems and reporting capabilities.
• Promote continuous improvement by recommending system enhancements and documenting process changes.

About you

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following selection criteria:

Essential experience and education 

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
• CPA or CA post-graduate qualification (desirable).
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2–3 years focused on financial systems or ERP platforms.
• Formal training or certification in Oracle ERP (e.g. Oracle Financials, Oracle Cloud, Oracle Procurement Cloud) is highly desirable.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or data analysis tools is an advantage.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
