Halliday Wine Companion is the leading authority on Australian wine. With a vibrant subscriber base, bestselling wine magazine, award-winning website, Wine Club, and national events program, our mission is simple: to ensure our community never drinks a bad bottle of wine again.

We are seeking an experienced National Sales & Partnerships Manager to lead our commercial growth nationally. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for driving revenue across advertising, sponsorship, and strategic partnerships, while managing a passionate national sales team.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, HGX (a division of Hardie Grant), and leading two direct reports, you will:


• Drive revenue growth – achieve and exceed ambitious sales and partnership targets.


• Grow key accounts – personally manage and expand relationships with major wineries, distributors, retailers, media agencies, and lifestyle brands.


• Secure new business – proactively source, pitch, and close new opportunities in advertising, sponsorship, and brand partnerships.


• Lead with impact – inspire, coach, and support an engaged sales team to perform at their best.


• Build strong networks – leverage your natural ability to create robust industry relationships through personable, proactive client engagement.


• Develop partnerships – foster long-term relationships via regular face-to-face meetings and a deep understanding of client needs.


• Shape strategy – collaborate with editorial, marketing, and product teams on go-to-market plans and commercial initiatives.


• Negotiate with confidence – finalise agreements that deliver win–win outcomes.


• Stay ahead of the market – monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and agency movements to drive innovation.

A savvy, personable, and commercially driven approach is essential to success in this role. A background in the wine industry will be highly regarded, though not critical.

About You

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic commercial leader who thrives in media and partnerships. You will bring:


• 5+ years of senior sales experience, ideally in media, publishing, or partnerships.


• A proven record of delivering significant revenue growth across direct and agency channels.


• Knowledge (or a strong interest) in wine.


• Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams.


• Exceptional relationship-building, networking, and negotiation skills.


• Commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and a drive for brand and business success.


• High-level organisational and communication skills, plus confidence with CRM/reporting tools.
