headspace Clinical Educator

360 Health + Community is a person-centred community health service committed to facilitating excellence in integrated, holistic healthcare and support for all community members.  With a special focus on the needs of young people aged 12 to 25 years, our headspace Rockingham centre is seeking a versatile mental health professional with significant clinical experience to support the growth of the students and graduates who complement our professional team.

Working part time 30 hours per fortnight, the Clinical Educator is responsible for working closely and collaboratively will all stakeholders to support the implementation of the headspace Early Career Program which includes student placements and a two-year graduate program.  The Clinical Educator role is designed to increase the level of senior clinician support available to both the students and graduates and in this exciting position you will:

• Engage with universities to successfully secure and coordinate student placements, and ensure a smooth and supportive on-boarding and orientation process.
• Support the field placement and supervision of graduates.
• Provide a senior level of clinical support to students and graduates, assisting them to apply education program knowledge to clinical practice and providing individual mentorship and support.
• Provide or match students and graduates with clinical supervision appropriate to their discipline.

You will also be a key member of the headspace leadership team by setting an exemplar of professional conduct, supporting the Centre Manager in management practices and actively participating in a range of advisory and focus groups that help us continuously improve our service and deliver to the highest standards.

Selection Criteria - To be successful, you will need:

• Tertiary qualification and corresponding professional registration or membership in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing
• Significant clinical experience post qualification
• Demonstrated ability to provide high quality clinical and case supervision to early career clinicians, with particular regard to an operating environment that includes significant exposure to presentations of emotional dysregulation, suicide ideation and ranges from single session therapy to longer term, time intensive counselling whilst referrals are secured.
• Thorough and up to date knowledge and understanding of mental health, including experience in evidence-based counselling and other therapeutic interventions and clinical practice for young people.
• National police certificate dated within 6 months and Working with children check, or willingness to obtain

The hourly rate for this position starts from $53.89 per hour ($106,486 per annum full time equivalent). Additional benefits include:
