About the Role

Cyril Gilbert Cancer Centre

We have an exciting opening for experienced and professional Admissions Secretary to join our Patient Admission team, in our oncology department.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering a superior level of customer service to patients, visitors and internal clients.

  • Addressing patient and doctor inquiries

  • Handling all administrative tasks related to patient admissions and discharges

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a well-presented individual who possesses highly developed organisational and communication skills, is flexible with shift work and excels in a multi-disciplined team environment.

Must be available to work within the hours of 7am – 6pm, including some weekends and public holidays.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain good working relations with others.

  • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft, Excel and Outlook.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

  • Proven organisational skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology

  • Previous experience in booking medical/surgical admissions and procedures highly desirable

Remuneration

On offer is base hourly rate of $ superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances (QLD Clerk Grade 3 Yr 1)

Requirements
