About the Role

Join our dynamic team as an AML Investigations and Reporting Specialist In this role, you will be a key player in our Financial Crime Operations, acting as a (SME) in anti-money laundering (AML), fraud and scams, Live payments and Name Screening. You will manage high-risk AML and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) investigations, ensuring compliance with all BOQ Group Policies and financial crime frameworks.

In this role, you'll coach, develop, and train new and existing members of the Financial Crime Operations team, ensuring everyone is up to speed and confident in their roles. You'll handle internal and external audits related to FCO, identify and escalate potential risks in the current process, and manage relationships with external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include the timely review and submission of conducting high-risk AML/CTF investigations and collaborating with various stakeholders to drive operational efficiencies.

You will also contribute to the design and implementation of procedural changes, ensuring faster adoption and value creation, as well as submitting Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) to AUSTRAC. Proven experience with strong stakeholder engagement is important to this role, working alongside operational teams to help facilitate forums – as well as working closely with our change and risk teams.

About you

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in AML/CTF investigations. You should have a proven experience in regulated AML/CTF environment and a proven track record in managing financial crime investigations.

Your advanced investigation skills, ability to interpret complex data sets, and strong problem-solving abilities will be crucial in this role. Having great Excel skills and ACAMS (or equivalent) qualifications are preferred.

You should be a team player with a strong work ethic and customer focus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. We're looking for someone with strong analytical skills and decision-making abilities, who can maintain confidentiality and quality standards.
