Join our Network Access Policy team as a Principal Policy Advisor and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of heavy vehicle access across Australia. This is your opportunity to lead national policy and regulatory initiatives that enhance certainty, consistency, and community benefit by promoting safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly vehicles.
We're looking for a dynamic professional with deep expertise in heavy vehicle regulations governing mass, dimension, and loading, and a strong understanding of the industry. In this role, you'll use your advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills to influence programs of work that drive meaningful change. You'll lead projects, manage services, and deliver outcomes that matter, while demonstrating your ability to communicate complex issues with clarity in high‑level reports, briefings, and business cases.
Collaboration is at the heart of this position — you'll work closely with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders to provide responsive, high‑quality advice and build strong, effective relationships. With experience managing small, diverse teams, you'll inspire and mentor others, fostering innovation in a complex regulatory environment.

This is a permanent full-time position, based in our Brisbane office at Newstead, and the role may involve travel from time to time.
What we're looking for:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Experience and prior working knowledge of the heavy vehicle industry and Regulatory Compliance.
- Expert knowledge in heavy vehicle regulation, specifically related to access or productivity.
- Previous experience engaging and negotiating outcomes with various levels of government (federal, state and local government).
- Demonstrated understanding of the heavy vehicle industry and the NHVR.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Computer literacy
