to join our team and help drive innovation in healthcare funding, customer experience and hospital insights through advanced analytics.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your data science expertise to real-world challenges—designing sustainable funding models, improving patient outcomes and delivering actionable insights that support Medibank's customer and financial goals.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Science Analyst, you'll lead the design and implementation of advanced analytics solutions across funding, customer, and hospital domains. You'll develop predictive models, risk-adjusted frameworks, and strategic insights that inform care planning, resource allocation, and commercial strategy.

You'll collaborate with stakeholders across clinical, funding, and policy teams to co-design data-driven solutions that align incentives, improve outcomes and enhance the customer journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate complex healthcare funding and value-based care challenges into data science opportunities
• Design and evaluate funding models (e.g., bundled payments, capitation, risk-adjusted) using advanced analytics and machine learning
• Build predictive and prescriptive models to support proactive care planning and early intervention
• Deliver end-to-end analytics—from data mining and modelling to strategy implementation and test-and-learn experiments
• Partner with business units to ensure adoption of insights and promote data-driven decision-making
• Research and apply emerging data science tools and techniques to deepen customer understanding and improve system-wide value
• Collaborate with Platform Hub and external partners to execute the data science roadmap

About You

You're a strategic thinker and technical expert with a passion for solving complex problems through data. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are driven by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in healthcare.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in statistics, mathematics, data science, computer science or related discipline
• Significant demonstrated  experience in data science or advanced analytics roles
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Jupyter Notebooks; SAS is a plus
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Advanced modelling skills (e.g., regression, segmentation, machine learning, Bayesian methods)
• Experience working with large structured and unstructured datasets
• Excellent communication skills—able to translate complex analytics into clear, actionable insights
• Experience with healthcare data, funding models, or clinical analytics is highly desirable
• Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) or distributed training on cloud platforms is a bonu
