Senior Data Analyst - Daily Rate Contract, 6-12 Months initially

Join a leading Education Institution modernising its analytics capability. You will design robust dimensional data models, build Azure-native pipelines, and turn complex requirements into clear, actionable insights.

What you will do:

  • Own the end-to-end data modelling layer (star/snowflake), semantic models and datasets that power enterprise reporting and self-service analytics
  • Analyse a legacy environment and define future-state information and data models for an Azure platform, documenting with Lucidchart (or similar)
  • Build and automate ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks (SQL and Python), with Git-based DevOps and version control for notebooks
  • Deliver performant Power BI dashboards and reports, including modelling, DAX, usability and performance tuning
  • Implement and maintain data access controls (e.g. RLS/OLS in Power BI) to ensure secure, appropriate access
  • Translate stakeholder questions into analysis, models and recommendations that inform decisions
  • Contribute to best-practice documentation, testing, data quality and continuous improvement

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience as a data analyst or analytics engineer in modern cloud environments
  • Deep dimensional data modelling expertise and ability to design scalable, well-governed models
  • Advanced Power BI skills across modelling, DAX, visualisation and deployment pipelines
  • Hands-on Azure: Data Factory, Databricks (Delta Lake, notebooks) and Git/DevOps
  • Excellent SQL, plus Python for transformations and analysis
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage non-technical stakeholders

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in higher education, people/HR, research or operational data domains
