About the role

This role is responsible for the day-to-day activities of Swire Logistical activity in Australia.

Some of the key responsibilities and accountabilities:

· Maintain the container tracking database with all container movements – both empty and full via accurate and timely processing of EDI error messaging/daily depot/terminal Logistics reports.

· Maintain regular liaison with depots in relation to FIFO, stock control, repair and maintenance.

· Regular follow up of empty container overdue and resolution.

· Proactive management of vendors across area of responsibility.

· Regular liaison with the Customer Excellence and Imports teams to ensure data accuracy and timeliness of system updates.

· Regular liaison with commercial teams and review of export forecast and accuracy of the same to ensure we maintain a sufficient level of stock and actively work to reduce any surplus.

· Work closely with the Global Shared Services team regarding affiliated processes.

· Address root causes and seek continuous improvements – constantly look for ways to improve work processes.

· Efficient and timely processing of procurement items in SAP, PHOENIX, MEDIUS FLOW and other related modules.

· Efficient processing of invoices as per timelines.

Skills / experience required:

· University entrance (or equivalent) with further qualifications well regarded, especially in Business.

· Formal Industry Qualifications in the Supply Chain, Logistics, Cargo Management or equivalent.

· Minimum 3-5 years shipping/forwarding/logistics experience

· Well-developed communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills

· Handle high volume of customer inquiries/activities

· Ability to converse with people of all levels and is well organised, efficient and effective.

· Excellent team player and able to work effectively under pressure

· Ability to learn new concepts and procedures quickly and efficiently

· High level of skill in dispute resolution

· Works independently with limited supervision
