The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and reliable
Workshop Fitter
to join our Darwin team and support our current fitter. This role is critical to maintaining our fleet and ensuring safe, efficient operations in challenging conditions, especially as we move into the build-up season in the NT.
This is a
Darwin-based role
(not FIFO) and ideal for someone looking to grow within the marine industry. Bhagwan Marine is committed to supporting career progression, including the opportunity to gain
CoST certification
and work toward a
MED1 qualification
. Once certified, you'll be eligible to go to sea as crew and earn competitive day rates to help offset your training costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with vessel maintenance, repairs, and workshop tasks.
- Work alongside the current fitter to share workload and ensure safe operations.
- Support dry docking and refit activities as required.
- Maintain workshop safety and cleanliness standards.
- Collaborate with vessel crews and contractors.
What We're Looking For
- Trade qualification in mechanical fitting or similar.
- Marine experience or interest in progressing into marine operations.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in high-temperature, high-humidity environments.
- Willingness to pursue CoST and MED1 certification (support provided).
- Team player with good communication skills.
