This role is not just about answering the phone or processing the billing. You will be part of a team who are the first point of contact for our patients directly responsible for ensuring a positive experience from the first greeting to the final booking.

About the Role

Our busy Skin Cancer Hub in Woolloongabba, QLD, is looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist. The position is ideal for a fast-paced multitasker.

Our beautifully appointed and modern clinic is growing, so it's a fantastic opportunity for an organised and patient-focused person to contribute to the smooth running of our specialised medical practice.

We need a reliable person available for either full-time or part-time, and one Saturday morning a month as part of a roster. We also need you to be a flexible team player who can provide backup coverage for staff leave, sick days or extra busy days.

Your Role:

  • Welcoming patients warmly (on the phone, at the desk, in the waiting room)
  • Booking, billing, and rebooking—accurately and with attention to detail
  • Using our clinic systems (Best Practice, Hot Doc, phones) with confidence

  • Learning and growing—this role is built for someone who wants to stay long term

  • Ensuring the clinic is well presented, clean and tidy at all times

About You

  • You've worked in a busy medical practice and know what it takes to prioritise and finalise tasks each day.
  • Minimum 1 year of medical receptionist experience is required.
  • You take great pleasure in assisting patients from the first phone call to their first visit and creating long-term relationships.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team who pride themselves on providing a professional, friendly, positive work environment for both patients and colleagues.
  • You have excellent attention to detail and are process-oriented.
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and empathetic approach
  • You are proficient in Best Practice Software and medical terminology
  • Intermediate level Best Practice software experience is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • You have a genuine interest in the healthcare industry and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care
  • Australian work rights are required for this position.
