About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and patient-focused Part Time Medical Receptionist to join our team at Queensland Eye Institute in Brisbane. This Part Time role will see you providing exceptional patient service and administrative support to our busy ophthalmology practice. This role will provide support at our practices in Woolloongabba and Clayfield.

What you'll be doing

  • Greeting and welcoming patients upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Scheduling and managing patient appointments, including booking, rescheduling and providing reminders
  • Collecting and processing patient information, including Medicare and private health insurance details
  • Handling patient enquiries and providing information about our services and procedures
  • Assisting with the preparation of patient files and medical reports
  • Maintaining the reception area in a neat and professional manner
  • Providing general administrative support to the clinical team as required

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare reception role, preferably in an ophthalmology or optometry practice (not essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional manner
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Proficiency in using medical practice management software and Microsoft Office suite
  • A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and patient care
  • Flexibility to work as part of a team and adapt to the changing needs of the practice
