Located near West Wyalong in central New South Wales, Cowal is a residential site where we encourage our people to live nearby and enjoy the close-knit communities and lifestyles of the surrounding areas.

This roster is 8/7/7/6 and a 12.5 hour day. (Day Shift Wednesday to Wednesday, Night Shift Thursday to Wednesday)

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity at Cowal, where you'll be guiding a crew of up to 40 surface mining operators through the day-to-day haulage and stockpile operations. Reporting to the Superintendent - Mine Operations, you'll be the go-to person for safety, coordination, and crew performance across a dynamic and expanding site.

Cowal is entering an exciting phase with new pits and a life of mine extending to 2042, offering long-term stability and growth. You'll be part of a team that values safety, accountability, and operational excellence, and you'll have the chance to shape how things run on shift.

• Lead and coordinate haulage, dump, and stockpile activities across a space-constrained site
• Influence safety outcomes and resource efficiency in a high-impact role
• Progression pathway to Production Coordinator and Superintendent roles

About You

You're an experienced mining professional with a strong background in open cut operations, quarrying, or civil construction. You've led crews before, ​formally or in acting roles, and know how to get the best out of a team with mixed experience levels. You're motivated by operational efficiency, safety, and the chance to make a real impact.

You bring:

• 7+ years of heavy equipment experience and proven supervisory capability
• A current manual license plus other relevant licenses and tickets (Cert IV TAE is a bonus)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, INX, and incident/hazard management systems
• A practical mindset, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach

You understand the rhythm of mining operations and are ready to step into a role where leadership and logistics meet.
