The opportunity

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Wills and Estate Law Solicitor to join our team. This role would suit an individual who enjoys both estate litigation and estate planning.

Our highly regarded Wills & Estates Team,led by Anthea Kennedy and Asheetha Jelliffe, is open to expressions of interest from Solicitors 5 yrs + PQE with Wills and Estate Law experience, up to Senior Associate/Special Counsel level. This is a rare opportunity and whilst knowledge and experience will be highly valued, so is the right fit. We are collegiate, professional, proud of our work and, when we can, we like to have fun.

Candidates who have attained or are working towards Wills & Estates accreditation will be favourably viewed.

The successful candidate will be working with two Partners who are outstanding in their field, as recognised by Doyles Guide in September 2025:

  • Both Partners are ranked Preeminent Wills & Estates Litigation Lawyers; and Preeminent Wills, Estate & Succession Planning Lawyers
  • Bridges Lawyers as a firm is ranked First Tier for both Wills & Estate Litigation and Estate & Succession Planning

This role requires a highly organised and strategic individual with sound legal acumen in Wills and Estate Law and Estate Planning experience combined with excellent interpersonal skills as you will be working with all key stakeholders.

Responsibilities include

  • General carriage and management of estate planning and litigation files under direct Partner supervision
  • Meeting and attending at conferences with clients, barristers and other professionals
  • Drafting letters of advice to clients
  • Drafting estate planning documents, simple to complex, for a broad range of clients
  • Drafting affidavits, pleadings and other court documents
  • Briefing counsel and instructing them at mediations and at hearings
  • A positive, effective, value add approach reflected in day-to-day workflow

Essential requirements

  • Accurate and timely work, demonstrating an exceptional eye for detail
  • Provide practical, can do, commercially and legally sound advice that considers the holistic goals of our clients
  • Skill and ability to flex between working autonomously and running with the team
  • Efficient time management and highly organised

Remuneration will reflect the candidate's seniority and experience. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who has experience in Wills and Estate Law.
