Experienced Chef

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes in line with our menu.
  • Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans, and kitchen scales.

  • Supervise junior staff and assist as needed.

  • Modify recipes to meet customers' needs and requests (e.g., reduce salt, remove dairy).
  • Monitor stock levels and order accordingly to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor food preservation and rotation to ensure minimal wastage.
  • Operate within the state's food handling guidelines.
  • Discuss food preparation issues with the team.
  • Ensure the quality and cleanliness of all food prepared.
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.

Requirements / Attributes:

  • Experience working in the same fast paced environment for more than 2 years.
  • Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and motivated work ethic.
  • Ability to understand and comply with internal food policies and procedures while consistently meeting expected food quality standards.
  • Understanding of best practices in food handling requirements.
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher.
