About the role

Are you passionate about ensuring development compliance and promoting community awareness? We are seeking a dedicated Development Compliance Coordinator to join the City and help uphold the integrity of our development processes.

Reporting to the Health and Compliance Manager, you will lead the City's development compliance team, ensuring that all developments comply with City approvals and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage Construction Management Plans, Demolition Management Plans, and Verge and Thoroughfare Permits required by development approvals.
  • Investigate, report, resolve, and enforce compliance regarding development-related complaints, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and council policies.
  • Liaise with builders, developers, City staff, and council solicitors to ensure compliance and obtain necessary information and advice.
  • Act as a central point of contact for customer enquiries related to planning, building, and development compliance.
  • Manage the compliance register, including enforcement actions, infringements, and prosecution of offences.
  • Promote awareness of and development compliance with the City's local laws and regulations.

About the successful candidate

The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications in planning, building, or compliance-related disciplines and/or demonstrated considerable experience in a similar role.

The successful candidate will also have:

  • Extensive experience in development control enforcement, including investigative techniques, negotiation, and timely resolution of cases.
  • Strong ability to interpret planning development and building approval plans.
  • Experience leading and supervising staff.
  • Excellent attention to detail in following processes and procedures, including documentation preparation.
  • A current 'C' class Driver's Licence.
  • A current National Police Certificate.
  • A Construction Induction "White Card."

What we offer

This full-time, permanent position offers a salary range of $98,805 - $114,945 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, plus super.
