About the Role

As a Learning and Assessment Designer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining engaging and compliant learning and assessment materials for our qualifications. You will work closely with the Learning and Assessment Manager and collaborate with other team members to ensure our materials meet the highest standards. This role requires the ability to work across multiple subject areas, offering variety and the opportunity to broaden your expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop assessment tools aligned with unit of competency criteria and assessment conditions.
  • Create engaging learning resources, including learner guides, PowerPoint presentations, and sequence plans.
  • Map assessment activities to unit of competency requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing review and continuous improvement processes, including validation activities and assessment feedback.
  • Liaise with industry experts to ensure materials are current and relevant.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Embrace technology and utilise internal systems for self-assessment, audit, and validation.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Qualifications: TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent) and TAESS512 Design and Develop Assessment Tools (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of the VET sector, qualifications, and Units of Competency.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and developing assessment tools for a variety of learning styles.
  • Flexibility and creativity in designing tasks that use assessment methods that engage school-aged learners.
  • Experience with school-aged learners is highly desirable.
  • Experience in one or more of the following industry areas is highly desirable:

  • Horticulture / Land Conservation

  • Laboratory Skills
  • Fashion
  • ICT
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online communication platforms.
  • Ability to think laterally, multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
