
Prosecution Advisor, Transport and Main Roads

We are the TMR Prosecution Services Unit. We are responsible for court-based enforcement of camera-detected offences and serious transport safety matters, including marine safety, and light vehicle safety. We also enforce revenue offences relating to registration, tolling, and fare evasion.
As a Prosecution Advisor, you will be part of the brief coordination team, involved in the preparation of briefs of evidence for court-based prosecutions.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Preparing and compiling briefs of evidence, including making requests for statements from witnesses, and drafting court and other documents such as evidentiary certificates using Word templates.
• Reviewing evidence for accuracy and making requests for further information and evidentiary material to internal and external stakeholders and investigating officers from various State enforcement agencies.
• Work collaboratively to maintain and update records and databases, file manage and perform other administration tasks to support the Brief Coordinator.
• Providing information, advice and solutions to the Brief Coordinator, investigating officers, prosecutors, stakeholders, or other government departments in relation to briefs of evidence. and evidentiary matters.
• Compiling reports and statistical data for the Director (Prosecution Services) in relation to briefs of evidence.
• Liaising, consulting and maintaining effective relationships with team members, and internal and external stakeholders, including in relation to court dates, witness availability, disclosure obligations and obtaining or collecting evidence
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Criminal history screening will be conducted on the suitable person for the role.
• Experience in an enforcement or prosecution environment will be highly regarded.

• Ability to review, analyse and interpret information relating to briefs of evidence and identify issues with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise work, manage time and problem solve.
• Ability to make decisions, recommendations and demonstrate judgement about when to escalate an issue.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, succinct and deliberate manner, both orally and in writing.
• Experience working in a high-volume, decision-making environment requiring quick, accurate decisions.
