We're excited to offer a unique opportunity for a dedicated Manager Living to join our Boarding Campus team. In this newly created leadership role, you'll play a vital part in shaping a safe, inclusive, and culturally supportive "home away from home" for students from across Northwest Queensland.
This is a hands-on role that includes on-call responsibilities, after-hours, and weekend work, perfect for someone ready to make a meaningful impact every day. Report directly to the Head of Campus and help lead a team that changes lives.
Who We Are:
Spinifex State College is a unique secondary school located in Mount Isa, Queensland, offering high-quality education across junior, senior, and boarding campuses. The college includes a Department of Education-operated Boarding Campus, set on its own dedicated grounds, providing a culturally safe and supportive "home away from home" for students from communities and towns across Northwest Queensland. Step Into Your Next Chapter:
This role involves on call work, weekend work, after hours care and will be a Sunday to Thursday roster.
Responsibilities include:
- Liaise with feeder schools across northwest Queensland, ensuring transition programs are implemented to support a smooth transition from community to boarding and within the various stages of schooling such as Junior to Senior campus.
- Identify opportunities, resolve issues, and improve outcomes for students by leading and managing the short and long-term planning and management of the residential boarding campus.
- Address in a timely manner any concerns or issues that arise in the residential boarding campus and provide appropriate referrals to support services as necessary.
- Foster a safe, nurturing and inclusive community for a diverse range of students to enable them to thrive academically, socially, emotionally and culturally.
