ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Cafe Manager for Mermaids Café at Shoal Bay Country Club, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the café, ensuring smooth service and delivering exceptional experiences to our customers. You will lead a team of up to 18 staff members of all ages in the cafe with a seating capacity of 200 guests. Your ability to manage, mentor, and inspire the team will be key to the café's success. You'll collaborate with senior management to ensure alignment with the broader vision of Shoal Bay Country Club and other outlets across the venue.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the café team to deliver outstanding service and create exceptional experiences.
  • Manage daily café operations, including inventory management, staff training and rostering, and workflow efficiency.
  • Foster a positive and engaging work environment, actively supporting your team during peak periods.
  • Contribute to the growth of the venue by enhancing our food and beverage offerings.
  • Work closely with senior management to execute plans that elevate the café's presence in the community.
  • Ensure that all operations run smoothly, even during weekends, holidays, and public holidays.

ABOUT YOU

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • At least 2 years' of experience as a Café Manager in a fast-paced environment producing up to 220kgs of coffee in a week.
  • Proven ability to manage a team of up to 18 staff of all ages.
  • Strong barista skills and the ability to step in during busy service periods.
  • Experience in inventory management, stock ordering, and rostering.
  • A passion for the hospitality industry and a vision for building a café that stands out.
  • An outgoing personality, able to engage guests and handle customer inquiries effectively.
  • Lead your team to foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork
  • Availability to work on weekends, holidays, and public holidays.
