Your new team

This role is a key continuous improvement and application support role building out the best digital tools to support Auto and General's customers. You will take ownership of supporting and improving systems used by Auto and General's customer-facing teams.

The role will be working in one of several cross functional agile teams, supported by roles including tester, business analyst and product owner. All software is delivered via agile teams and deployed via a modern DevOps/CI pipeline to AWS.

This role will be working within a large technology team, consisting of developers, testers and agile practitioners in Auto and General's Toowong location.

The role

  • Take ownership of the product, contribute improvement and innovation ideas.
  • Work collaboratively within a cross functional Agile team, contributing to support, deployment, and development activities as required.
  • Leverage your experience to lead solution designs and development of our modern architecture.
  • Establish and own best practice testing across unit, integration and end to end tests.
  • Perform other reasonable and relevant activities as requested from time to time to meet operational requirements

What experience you'll bring

  • At least 4+ years of Software Development using NodeJS
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and MicroService architecture
  • Experience with Integration, APIs and GraphQL
  • Solid understanding of NodeJS and Typescript
  • Experience with AWS Services and Architecture
  • GitLab CI/CD
  • Experience or knowledge of application and system monitoring tools
  • Experience with PostgresQL / RDS
  • Ability to work in the Atlassian suite of products. JIRA and Confluence
  • Understanding of security implications for web applications (OWASP)

Advantageous:

  • Experience with Terraform
  • A background in financial services applications is an advantage
