Curriculum Leader - English
Middle Leadership, Full-time Continuing, Commencing January 2026
Applications are invited for a passionate and collaborative Curriculum Leader English to join our Middle Leadership team in 2026. This is a Tier 2, four-year middle leadership appointment with an underlying, continuing teaching position.
As a permanent, full-time role, the Curriculum Leader English works closely with the Head of Department - English to lead an exceptional team of professionals and innovative curriculum initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an educator dedicated to impactful teaching and learning, who thrives in a collaborative leadership and learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the English teaching team in delivering high-quality curriculum and pedagogy, in collaboration with the Head of Department.
Coordinate curriculum planning, including unit development, resource creation, and monitoring of student progress.
Analyse student data to inform teaching practices and enhance learning outcomes across the curriculum area.
Provide guidance and mentoring to teachers, including beginning teachers, new staff and experienced teachers, to foster professional growth and classroom excellence.
Ensure curriculum programs meet Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority syllabus and Australian Curriculum requirements, while addressing diverse learner needs and emerging educational trends.
Role requirements
Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
Demonstrated knowledge of Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority syllabuses and processes and Australian Curriculum frameworks.
Proven experience in curriculum development and team leadership within a school setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and reflective approach to leadership.
A commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education in the Mercy tradition.
