About the role:

We are looking for a Level 1 Desktop and Network Support Engineer. This role will suit someone who wants to become technically excellent and is looking to learn embark on the next phase of professional growth.

You will join our great team and report to our IT Lead, working in a hybrid arrangement from our modern Sydney CBD office. Due to the nature of this role, we require our successful new team member to be located in Sydney, NSW.

Not only will you be part of a great team, but you will also have contact with and work alongside our Associates and Directors who are committed to the development of our people.

What you'll do:

Our Desktop & Network Support Engineer is the first point of contact for all IT support requests, both internally for DBS team and also external clients. This role is responsible for providing timely, courteous, and effective technical assistance to end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. The position requires strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, and a customer-focused mindset to ensure the smooth operation of client technology systems managed by DBS.

What you'll need:

Experience and Qualifications you'll need:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in a customer service or IT support role.
  • ITIL Foundation certification (advantageous but not required).
  • Current drivers licence
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team collaboration (working across Level 2/3 teams).
  • Customer-focused with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Office, OneDrive, SharePoint).
  • Using Remote support tools (TeamViewer, Splashtop, VNC etc.)
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN).
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure including routers, firewalls, switches, wireless access points (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common IT issues.
  • A desire to grow and learn.
