About the role
Join our Legal & Governance team as a Senior Lawyer – Energy, supporting Alinta's strategic energy projects across development, construction and operational phases. This role is based in Perth, Sydney or Melbourne and reports to the Senior Legal Manager.

What you'll do
- Provide comprehensive legal support and advice on matters relating to development projects (power generation and storage) and assets.
- Drafting and negotiating a range of project documents with a focus on energy contracts (e.g. connection agreements and offtake arrangements) in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Managing external legal advisors and delivering training to internal teams.
- Identifying and mitigating legal risks across the project lifecycle.
- Championing legal governance and contributing to team leadership.
Your experience
- Law degree and admission to practice in an Australian jurisdiction.
- Experience in project development (construction and/or energy)
- Minimum 7 years' legal experience in a major law firm or in-house role.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
- Proven ability to build effective internal relationships.
Please note this role requires full working rights within Australia.
This role is best suited to a proactive individual with experience in complex, fast-paced environments and a passion for delivering strategic legal solutions.
