Adelaide SA, Australia Department for Infrastructure and Transport, South Australia Full time $108,109 - $120,470 per year

Department for Infrastructure and Transport

Job reference: 701793

Location: ADELAIDE

Job status: Short Term Contract

Eligibility: Open to Everyone

At the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, we are connecting South Australia to keep our State moving. We are responsible for delivering a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of transformative transport and social infrastructure projects, operating and maintaining thousands of kilometres of roads and managing our city's public transport network.

Our work encompasses every part of our State from our cities to our regions, connecting and strengthening community. We value diversity and inclusion and foster an environment of collaboration, flexibility, and support for our people.

The Opportunity

The Department is offering a unique dual opportunity for a Road Asset Planner (ASO7/PO4) to contribute to the future of South Australia's transport network.

In this role, you will play an important part in developing and implementing asset and risk management plans, renewal programs for roads, lighting, and traffic signals, and providing advice that supports executive briefings and strategic decision-making.

Working within the Asset Management team, you will be involved in programs and investigations that ensure our road and related assets deliver long-term value and meet community expectations. You will contribute to planning for new construction to reduce future maintenance needs, help guide change initiatives, and support service delivery through effective maintenance planning and resource use.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced professional or a developing leader to make a real impact. Whether you bring strong technical expertise and professional recognition (PO4), or are a motivated practitioner ready to take the next step in your career (ASO7), you will play a valued role in shaping infrastructure planning, improving sustainability, and delivering positive outcomes for the South Australian community.

About you

You are a motivated and solutions-focused professional with strong skills in asset management and road corridor planning. With a sharp eye for detail and a forward-thinking mindset, you contribute to the development of sustainable programs that deliver long-term value for the community.

Whether leading projects or providing expert input, you work with initiative, sound judgement, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You are confident in analysing information, identifying emerging risks and opportunities, and supporting evidence-based decision-making.

Your ability to build relationships and engage with stakeholders at all levels enables you to negotiate outcomes, navigate complex issues, and contribute to effective planning and policy development. Whether you bring extensive professional expertise (PO4) or are a capable practitioner ready to take the next step (ASO7), your collaborative approach and focus on outcomes will make a meaningful contribution to the future of South Australia's transport infrastructure.
