**About the **Role**
The City of Salisbury is seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to fill the position of Manager Engineering Assets and Systems. As a key member of the City Infrastructure leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic direction and leadership, ensuring the effective management of engineering assets and systems within the council.
Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Foster positive relationships with executive management, team members, and elected members.
- Lead the development of strategic business plans and infrastructure strategies.
- Provide technical expertise and support for engineering projects and asset management.
- Develop and manage various asset management plans, including roads, drainage, bridges and major engineering structures.
- Monitor divisional budgets and implement continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
- Collaborate with strategic planners to integrate infrastructure considerations into city development plans.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and other relevant legislation.
**Essential Selection Criteria**:
- Strategic thinking and decision-making ability.
- Collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- Leadership experience with a proven track record.
- Understanding of corporate governance and workplace relations.
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous management experience in a similar role.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and technical aspects of civil engineering.
- 10+ years' experience in civil engineering
**Desirable Criteria**:
- Postgraduate qualification in Business Management, or relevant discipline.
- Experience in transport planning, traffic engineering and/or stormwater management.
- Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrological modelling software.
- Previous experience in local government senior roles.
