About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for leading the engineering and project management functions. This role combines strategic leadership with deep technical understanding—driving innovation, ensuring project excellence, and strengthening our engineering governance and delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team across engineering and project delivery.
- Oversee the design and engineering of heavy lift operations, including lift plans, rigging designs and equipment specifications.
- Design and develop engineering solutions based on the heavy transport utilising NearMaps, Liccon, 3D imaging and other relevant and innovative software.
- Perform structural analysis and stress calculations to ensure the integrity of structures during lifting operations.
- Manage and coordinate rigging design, including the selection of appropriate rigging equipment such as slings, shackles and spreader bars.
- Communicate lifting plans and safety procedures to the rigging crew and other relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee the setup and execution of rigging operations, ensuring compliance with the rigging plans and safety protocols.
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and support to the rigging crew prior and during lifting operations.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
- Lead and manage heavy lift engineering projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate lifting requirements with project stakeholders.
- Ensure all heavy lift activities adhere to safety regulations and industry best practices before jobs commence.
- Identify, assess, mitigate, monitor, discuss and review all lifting related issues and risks, as well as opportunities.
You'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years' experience in construction, engineering, or lifting operations, with proven leadership in project delivery.
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy lift engineering, rigging design, and safety management systems.
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex, high-value projects.
- Experience in heavy lift operations and innovative software solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of heavy lift equipment, rigging and lifting techniques.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
