We have a unique opportunity for a Contract Manager to take on a strategic leadership role, overseeing the full lifecycle of complex contracts. This position is pivotal in ensuring alignment with project objectives, legal frameworks, and commercial goals. The Contract Manager will play a critical role in driving risk mitigation, leading successful negotiations, and fostering strong contractual relationships with key stakeholders, partners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
:
- Lead the development, negotiation, and execution of high-value contracts in alignment with corporate strategy and project objectives.
- Establish and maintain contract management frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Oversee the drafting and review of complex contractual documents, ensuring legal soundness, commercial viability, and risk mitigation.
- Identify, assess, and manage contractual risks proactively, recommending risk-sharing mechanisms or mitigation strategies.
- Act as the primary interface between project teams and the Legal department, ensuring legal input is effectively integrated into contract terms.
- Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, industry regulations, and internal compliance standards.
- Cultivate and manage strong working relationships with clients, joint venture partners, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Serve as the senior point of contact for all contract-related issues, facilitating resolution and maintaining trust.
- Oversee the administration of EPC contracts, supplier agreements, and subcontracts, ensuring contractual obligations and milestones are met.
- Monitor performance indicators and deliverables to ensure accountability and timely execution across all parties.
- Manage contract changes, variations, and claims with a structured and defensible approach.
- Lead negotiation and resolution of disputes, working closely with legal counsel and senior leadership as needed.
- Develop and implement robust monitoring systems to track contract performance, milestones, and KPIs.
- Provide regular reports and strategic insights to project leadership, highlighting contract risks, opportunities, and performance trends.
- Ensure that contract practices comply with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in contract processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior contract staff and cross-functional project teams.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance in contract management practices.
Skills and Knowledge
- Negotiation skills, interpersonal skills and experience in managing and administering documents, policies and standards are essential.
- Excellent time management and strong attention to detail
- Planning experience preferred but not essential
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Law, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
- 5 years of developing the described functions.
- Fluent English
