An ASX listed mining company is looking for a Project Accountant to start ASAP.

Your new company

An ASX listed mining company that has recently begun operations in Africa, is looking for a Project Accountant to join the team ASAP. Perth CBD location with some ad hoc travel required.

Your new role

Supporting the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the mine site accounting processes and procedures:

  • Responsible for the maintenance and ongoing development of the mine inventory model, ensuring accuracy of the inputs and outputs.
  • Oversee the minesite team based in Africa, ensuring accuracy and prepayment balances.
  • Ensure the correct allocation, set up and documentation of WIP assets, WIP reconciliations and ongoing management and maintenance of the fixed asset register.
  • Support the team with Pronto, supporting the team with reporting, troubleshooting and ensuring month-end tasks are being delivered in accordance with monthly targets and deadlines.
  • Budgeting, forecasting and commentary on actuals vs physicals.
  • Support the Group FC with any ad hoc requests and during the audit process.
  • Business partner with the operations and finance teams to provide accurate financial data insights and analysis.

What you'll need to succeed

This role will ideally suit a CA/ CPA qualified Management Accountant/ Project Accountant with minesite experience. This is a newly created role where you will support the Group Financial Controller by taking ownership of the minesite accounting function and supporting the current leadership team.
