Position Title

We are seeking a qualified & motivated  Cook on a part-time and casual basis who has aged care experience, reporting to our Chef and General Manager, being a part of an integral team.

Key Responsibilities

The Queenslea Aged Care Facility Provides quality care & services for up to 120  aged care residents.

We are looking for an individual with a passion for providing a high quality catering service in a unique Aged Care environment and contributing to residents quality of life through the joy of food.  If you have the skills and experience to continue to develop and enrich the quality of life of the people that live with us, we encourage you to apply. As part of the role, you will need to lead our Catering Department on some days.

The role will entail:

  • The overall management of the main kitchen
  • Preparation, cooking and exceptional presentation of meals
  • Overseeing/assisting with meal serving to residents and their guests
  • Coordinating and preparing meals for special occasions and functions
  • Assisting with the design and preparation of menus
  • Maintain control and oversight of the Food Safety plan and associated documentation
  • Catering for the residents choices and needs with nutrition and hydration

Requirement for the role;

  • At least 2 years experience working in a high quality aged care/hospital environment.
  • Certificate III in commercial cookery
  • Commitment to a quality food and dining experience for residents
  • Excellent customer relation skills
  • Excellent English (spoken and written)
