The Purchasing Officer is responsible for processing a high volume of purchase orders and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services. This role plays a key part in supporting the company's operational performance by maintaining efficient, accurate, and cost-effective purchasing processes.

Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive approach to resolving issues in a fast-paced environment. The role involves frequent interaction with both internal teams and external suppliers, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.

About the Role

As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders within an MRP environment
- Maintaining stock levels and coordinating with suppliers to prevent shortages
- Monitoring lead times, supplier schedules, and potential shortfalls
- Assisting with supplier performance evaluations and quality control actions
- Identifying data inaccuracies and maintaining system accuracy
- Providing purchasing support and covering colleagues as required

To be successful, you will possess the following:

Minimum 3 years' experience in a purchasing or supply chain role within a fast-paced environment
- Experience with supplier management and escalation processes
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Sound knowledge of MRP systems and intermediate Excel skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability and ability to meet deadlines
