Support Worker / Mentor – Flexible Roles (Approx. 37 Hours Available Across Multiple Clients)
Join I'm Able Support Network – where people and purpose come together.
We're looking for caring, grounded, and reliable Support Workers to join our team. If you're passionate about helping people live more independently — and you want consistent hours that fit your lifestyle — we'd love to meet you.
Available Hours
We have a total of around 37 hours per week available, spread across several clients in the southern and western suburbs of Adelaide.
Roles can be combined or split depending on your availability and travel preferences.
Example shifts include:
- Monday 10:30am – 2:30pm (Edwardstown)
- Tuesday morning (Semaphore)
- Wednesday mid-day (Hackham)
- Thursday–Friday afternoons, 3:00–5:30pm (Morphett Vale)
- Wednesday–Friday mornings, 6:30–8:40am (Aldinga)
- Mornings & weekend options (Warradale)
You'll be paid travel kilometres for up to 30 km per shift, so proximity to these areas is a bonus.
About the Clients
You'll be working alongside people with diverse needs, interests, and personalities, such as:
- A young adult (they/them) who values inclusion and open-mindedness (Edwardstown/Semaphore)
- Someone who loves animals — snakes, rats, and big dogs (Hackham)
- A participant training to be a barista, needing encouragement and gentle motivation (Reynella/Mount Barker)
- Two clients who require strong communication and de-escalation skills (Adelaide CBD) - Training involved
- A 12-year-old playful, upbeat participant who enjoys connection and fun (Morphett Vale)
- A gamer learning independence and daily skills (Aldinga)
- A 12-year old with high physical and behavioural support needs (Warradale) - Training involved
We're Looking For People Who Are:
- Calm, compassionate, and dependable
- Strong communicators who can build trust and use redirection to navigate potential conflicts
- Confident with boundaries and emotional regulation
- Inclusive and respectful of diversity (LGBTQIA+, neurodiversity, etc.)
- Experienced with moderate–high support needs and personal care (advantageous but not essential)
Why Join I'm Able
- Steady, meaningful hours that fit your lifestyle
- Paid travel kilometres (up to 30km per shift)
- Ongoing training and mentoring
- Supportive, solution-focused team culture — we back you when things get tough
- Opportunities for growth and leadership within a collaborative organisation
