This is a temporary full-time position commencing 22 January 2026 until 02 April 2026, unless otherwise determined. About Us
Mareeba State School maintains a clear focus on the Literacy and Numeracy capabilities of students through a commitment to explicit teaching and rigorous monitoring of student achievement. Our school offers well developed systems to support and extend student achievement both in and outside of the classroom.

Whilst students are taught to respect diversity through the school-wide positive behaviour system, they are also challenged to think critically and creatively. The school offers an extensive list of lunchtime activities including Art and chess Clubs, Opti-Minds and organised sport. In addition, students have access to significant after-school sporting opportunities and before-school homework and reading Learning Cafes. A music program and an excellent Instrumental Music Program also provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents.

Many students also opt to develop their leadership skills by participating in the school's Student Leadership program.

About The Role
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Program Leadership and Coordination: Lead and manage the Special Education and/or Early Childhood Development Program to ensure the delivery of high-quality advice, support, and services for students with disability.
  • Expert Guidance and Collaboration: Provide specialist advice to school leadership, teachers, and staff to plan, implement, and monitor effective reasonable adjustments and targeted interventions.
  • Case Management and Student Support: Coordinate and deliver intensive teaching and case management for students requiring substantial or extensive adjustments, ensuring access to appropriate specialist services and supports.
  • Data-Driven Practice and Compliance: Implement and oversee school-wide systems for tracking student progress, managing data, and meeting legislative and policy requirements, including the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).
  • Partnerships and Resource Management: Build strong partnerships with parents, agencies, and community groups, while effectively managing human, financial, and curriculum resources to achieve program and school goals.
