Paralegal (Part-Time) – Sydney CBD

Monaco Solicitors is a national plaintiff personal injury law firm headquartered in the Sydney CBD. We are seeking exceptionally well-spoken, mature and composed law students to join our Operation or New Enquiries Team in a part-time capacity. This client-facing role is suited to individuals who communicate with clarity, confidence and empathy, and who can exercise sound judgment when speaking with new clients about sensitive matters.

Position

Part-time, 2-3 days per week

Preferred working days: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

About You

We are looking for someone who demonstrates:

  • Current enrolment in a combined law degree (2nd to 4th year).
  • Strong academic performance, including an ATAR of 96+ and a university credit–distinction average or higher.
  • Outstanding verbal communication skills

    – articulate, professional, warm and able to navigate difficult conversations with confidence.
  • A mature thinker with strong emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to quickly understand issues, ask relevant questions and identify potential legal matters.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good typing speed and accuracy.
  • Previous customer service or client-facing experience preferred, though not essential.
  • A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and the ability to show initiative in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

In this position, you will:

  • Be the first point of contact for new personal injury enquiries across workers compensation, motor vehicle accidents, public liability, medical negligence and other areas.
  • Communicate directly with potential clients by phone and email, gathering preliminary information with professionalism, clarity and empathy.
  • Conduct initial screening questions to determine urgency and whether the matter meets our intake criteria.
  • Liaise with solicitors, clients, insurers and medical providers as needed.
  • Draft clear notes, correspondence and preliminary statements for solicitor review.
  • Manage administrative tasks including data entry, file opening, record keeping, and general office duties.
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive and high-performing enquiries team.
  • Receive comprehensive training, with scope for progression for high-performing candidates.
