About the role

We currently have a casual position available for either an experienced Optical Mechanic or Optical Worker with expertise in Edging and Mounting processes. This role would also be suitable for someone with strong fine motor skills and keen attention to detail, who is eager to train and develop into a skilled Optical Mechanic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure your own safety and that of your team by following all safety procedures
  • Operate machinery and follow production flow as outlined in SOPs
  • Maintain quality, cost, and service standards through attention to detail and teamwork
  • Maximise machine efficiency and contribute to process improvements
  • Adapt to staffing plans and be open to training across various workstations
  • Be proactive about learning and sharing feedback
  • Maintain and care for equipment to ensure optimal performance

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in manual handling (able to safely lift up to 20kg)
  • Skilled and comfortable working with delicate materials
  • Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for getting things right the first time
  • A strong team player – enthusiastic, punctual, and proactive
