Let's create a brighter future together, let's make a difference

It's important to know, what you do matters. At Zurich, we don't just cover, we care.

As a Senior Data Analyst within Zurich's General Insurance (GI) business, you'll turn complex data into clear, actionable insights that shape customer experiences and inform strategic decisions—directly supporting our digital north star of becoming Australia's Leading Digital Insurer. You'll own end‑to‑end analytics delivery—from data sourcing and preparation through modelling, visualisation and storytelling—so our teams can move faster with confidence.

Reporting to the Data Analytics Chapter Lead, you'll be a hands‑on builder who sets high standards for governance, performance and quality, while collaborating across squads and the broader analytics community. You'll mentor junior analysts, constructively challenge requests to focus on value, and showcase solutions that improve outcomes for customers and the business

You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Delivering end‑to‑end analytics solutions that answer real business questions—spanning data sourcing, preparation, modelling, visualisation and clear communication of insights.
  • Translating complex problems into data‑driven solutions in close partnership with stakeholders across GI, influencing both strategic and operational decisions.
  • Building and maintaining high‑quality data products and dashboards using SQL, Python, Alteryx, Power BI, Fabric and the Power Platform.
  • Applying AI, automation and modern integration techniques (including APIs) to create scalable, future‑ready analytics.
  • Championing chapter standards—governance, performance, security and documentation—to ensure reliable, reproducible delivery.
  • Uplifting capability by supporting junior analysts and sharing best practice across squads and the Chapter.

Important to your success – let's grow together

You're a commercially astute, hands‑on analyst who thrives in agile, squad‑based delivery—curious enough to explore, courageous enough to challenge, and accountable for outcomes that matter to customers. Experience in general insurance is highly regarded.

In order to be successful, you will have the following:

  • A strong track record delivering end‑to‑end analytics solutions, ideally within agile or squad‑embedded environments.
  • Advanced SQL and Python skills for data extraction, modelling and automation, plus proficiency with Alteryx for data preparation and workflow automation.
  • Deep capability in Power BI (including advanced DAX, data modelling and reusable, scalable semantic layers) and familiarity with Fabric/Power Platform.
  • Experience with cloud‑based data warehouses, APIs and modern integration approaches to support embedded and connected analytics.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement skills—framing problems, translating requirements and communicating insights to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Commitment to best practice governance, documentation and version control; experience mentoring junior analysts. Insurance domain knowledge is a plus.
