About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled OpenShift Migration Specialist to lead a large-scale migration from Dell/VMware OpenShift to IBM Fusion OpenShift (bare metal). You will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth, secure, and efficient transition of containerized workloads and services, supporting one of Australias most strategic digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Assess existing workloads & services (Kafka, Redis, Keycloak , etc.) to identify dependencies & risks.

Design detailed migration roadmaps with milestones, timelines, and risk assessments.

Implement migration strategies for platform services & apps with minimal downtime.

Update deployment repositories for IBM Fusion OpenShift compatibility.

Automate migration using Ansible, Helm, and GitOps practices.

Ensure security, compliance, and data integrity throughout migration.

Support app refactoring & database migration.

Test, validate, and optimize migrated workloads.

Establish rollback/disaster recovery plans.

Align CI/CD pipelines & integrate DevOps practices ( GitOps , ArgoCD ).

Required Skills & Experience

Strong track record of containerized workload migrations, ideally VMware OpenShift IBM Fusion.

Deep knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift architecture, security, networking, and storage.

Expertise with Kubernetes, Operators, Helm, Ansible Automation Platform, container registries.

Hands-on with CI/CD, GitOps , ArgoCD , DevOps pipelines.

Experience with multi-cloud / hybrid environments & integrations.

Familiarity with IBM Fusion OpenShift configs & practices (IBM Expert Labs exposure desirable).
