A part time role can be considered up to a 0.8 FTE

Responsibilities:

As an accountant in our Business Advisory Services team you will work closely with a portfolio of clients to facilitate their business needs by:

  • Quarterly accounting file review and BAS lodgement

  • Annual Financial statement preparation, tax return completion (Xero) and interim tax planning

  • Exposure to all entities and group structures as well as many tax issues including Div 7A, CGT, FBT, PST, trust issues and more

  • Collaborate with the Director and team members to deliver exceptional client outcomes

  • Become a source of client contact for a portfolio of clients and build relationships

  • Take full responsibility and ownership of the completion of delegated jobs

  • Perform value add advisory services when required

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings through attendance of monthly Professional Development sessions

  • This role can be adapted to suit the skills and experience of the successful candidate

Qualifications & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in commerce/business with an emphasis in accounting

  • CA or CPA completed, studying towards or a a desire to commence

  • Xero experience and strong IT skills as the practice is 98% Xero with a strong digital focus

  • A minimum of 2 - 3 years experience in a business services role within public practice
