About the role

The Senior Technical Engineer role is pivotal within our organisation, where we value expertise, dedication, a passion for technology and an understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, and IT Security. As a Senior Technical Engineer, you will play a vital part in our team by being a technical escalation point for the Service Desk and Technical Onsite Engineers. You will also be managing our clients environments and implementing projects to optimise their systems.

How you will make an impact

  • Leading end-to-end cloud migration projects, including scoping and developing statements of work, hands-on implementation, and post-go-live support
  • You will be the lead engineer for a number of our clients, onboarding them and getting to know their environments intimately and owning their architecture.
  • An escalation point for the Service Desk – Level 2 and Technical Onsite Engineers, mentoring their team members and providing them with advice and owning their escalations.
  • Working on cloud migration projects, including developing statement of works, implementation and providing post go live support.
  • Working with External Vendors to resolve all major incidents.
  • Communicating technical information with non-technical stakeholders
  • Creating, maintaining, and updating internal and customer documentation.
  • Proactively looking for areas of improvement and making recommendations.
  • Supporting cloud and hybrid infrastructure including Cloud Infrastructure, Servers, 3rd Party Applications, Hardware and much more.

  • Strong work ethic and honesty.
  • Strong administration level technical abilities in Active Directory, Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft 365, and Azure
  • Experience in Cloud Migrations in M365 (Email, SharePoint and Teams) and Azure
  • Ability to take initiative, handle complex workloads, and foster a culture of improvement
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Empathy and patience when under pressure
  • Good time management and organisational skills, with a focus on punctuality and reliability
  • High level of self-motivation, adaptability, and willingness to take on new responsibilities
  • Qualifications (Diploma, Degree, and/or Industry certifications) in Information Technology
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to connect with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Valid driver's license

Highly Desirable

  • Fundamental Microsoft certifications including Modern Workplace (MS900) and Azure (AZ900)
  • Administration-level Microsoft certifications including Modern Workplace (MS102) and Azure (AZ104)
  • Knowledge of ConnectWise Manage and/or Automate
  • ITIL / ITSM certifications
