This role
As the Implementation Team Lead for Project Managers, you will be a key member of the Implementations leadership. By combining your leadership, project management expertise, and customer-first mindset; you'll ensure our project teams deliver high-quality, on-time implementations that help our clients succeed with Employment Hero. This involves setting clear expectations, providing guidance and direction, and ensuring the team's productivity and effectiveness.

You will report to the Implementations Experience Manager and work to improve processes, manage changes and support the overall strategic direction of the team. Our platform and our business are constantly changing, therefore, the Team Lead needs to be agile. With a growing team, the Team Leader is responsible for the onboarding of new employees and provide ongoing development and feedback.

Your key focus areas will be

1. People Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a team of Project Managers to achieve exceptional outcomes for our customers.
  • Set clear expectations, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and support career development through structured growth and learning opportunities.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance team culture built on trust, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings, and performance reviews that focus on results, growth, and wellbeing.
  • Manage onboarding and development for new team members, ensuring they are supported through their probation and beyond.

2. Project Delivery

  • Oversee the delivery of implementation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to a high standard of quality.
  • Partner with other Team Leads and internal teams to understand and give input to allocation of workload, remove blockers, and maintain project velocity.
  • Act as a first point of escalation for clients on project issues, using strong problem-solving and communication skills to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Occasionally manage a small portfolio (1–3 projects) to maintain hands-on understanding and connection to delivery challenges.

3. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Drive operational excellence across the team by continuously reviewing and refining processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, scalability, and innovation in how we deliver projects and support our customers.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, maintaining data accuracy across systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Support, and Customer Success to deliver seamless experiences, in particular working closely with the Technical Implementations Team.

4. Subject Matter Expertise

  • Have a deep understanding and expertise in project management in SaaS.
  • Ensure the data in our business management systems (e.g. sales, support, project management, time tracking) is accurate and current.
  • Leverage data, insights, and feedback to make informed decisions that drive continuous improvement.

5. Collaboration & Communication

  • Effectively collaboration with other Team Leaders, teams and departments.
  • Foster collaboration to achieve the EH objectives.Be able to convey complex information to team members and stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Address conflicts and issues within the team, promoting a harmonious working environment.

For this role, you'll also bring

  • 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • 5+ years project management experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of written and verbal communication, including stakeholder engagement and stakeholder management (internal and external)
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills with a focus on delivering results.
  • Proven experience in process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong understanding of the SaaS industry, and understanding of EH Payroll and HR software products is a plus
  • Ability to train and coach direct reports.
  • Focused on delivering quality assurance.
