The Role

An opportunity exists for a legal secretary to join our firm supporting lawyers in the Owners Corporation division of our Litigation and Dispute Resolution team, as well as providing assistance to the firm as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking instructions and completing tasks autonomously;
  • Ensuring work is accurate and delivered in a timely manner;
  • Typing of dictations;
  • Preparation of Counsel briefs both physical and electronic;
  • Monthly billing using Affinity practice management system;
  • Diary management and managing of timeframes;
  • Knowledge of Supreme/County/VCAT/Federal Court rulings relating to formatting, filing and service of documents;
  • Online company, business name and title searches; and
  • General administrative tasks including photocopying and opening/closing files.
The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced secretary with at least two years' experience who has a professional telephone manner and is comfortable in dealing with clients and can take accurate instructions. Experience in Commercial Litigation, Owners Corporation and/or Construction is preferred.

The successful candidate must have a positive attitude with exceptional time management skills. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential, together with being a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
