The opportunity
- Fixed Term, Full time position until 30 June 2027 primarily based at Parkville Youth Justice Precinct but working flexibly across both Youth Justice Custodial Precincts (Parkville & Cherry Creek), where needed to respond to operational requirements.
- VPS Grade 3 role, earning $79,122 - $96,073 per year plus super.
- Provide high-level administrative support, including meeting coordination, agenda and minute preparation, correspondence management, and record keeping.
- Support the planning and delivery of training, professional development, and capability-building initiatives for custodial staff.
- Assist with preparing reports, briefing notes, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, including supervision and program reports.
The Business Support Officer plays a key role in supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of the Operational Leadership and Capability Team, delivering a broad range of high-quality administrative, coordination, and logistical services that underpin the team's day-to-day functions. The role contributes to the successful planning, implementation, and evaluation of staff development programs and operational capability initiatives aimed at building a skilled, responsive, and professional custodial workforce.
The successful candidate will also manage confidential information, tracking compliance requirements, and maintaining systems for data collection and reporting to support performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in the provision of confidential, personal and administrative support functions including database management and Microsoft Office applications.
A full driver's licence is required due to the need to be able to work flexibly across both custodial precincts and community offices, based on operational requirements.
A current employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant. Currency will need to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
