About the role

Reporting into the General Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head Chef to join the team at WA Tavern Group in Kwinana Town Centre, Western Australia. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading a talented kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our customers. This full-time role is pivotal in driving the culinary vision and operations of our well-established tavern.

What you'll be doing

  1. Lead and motivate a team of skilled chefs and kitchen staff to consistently deliver high-quality, innovative dishes
  2. Develop and implement seasonal menus that showcase your culinary expertise and align with the tavern's brand and customer preferences
  3. Oversee food preparation, ensuring strict compliance with health and safety regulations
  4. Manage kitchen budgets, inventory, and ordering to optimise efficiency and profitability
  5. Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive kitchen culture
  6. Provide hands-on training and mentorship to develop the skills of your team
  7. Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless dining experiences for our customers

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years' experience as a Head Chef or equivalent senior culinary role in a high-volume, fast-paced hospitality environment
  2. Demonstrated expertise in creating and executing innovative menus that cater to diverse customer preferences
  3. Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  4. Strong working knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management practices
  5. Passion for using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and a commitment to sustainability
  6. Positive attitude, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
