Job Description

Unlock your career with AECOM as an Environmental Planner in our 'Impact Assessment and Permitting' team, based in Newcastle.

Being part of AECOM means applying your knowledge and expertise to deliver projects that drive positive environmental and social outcomes. With Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) principles embedded in everything we do, our Environment team works alongside designers and engineers from project inception through to construction, giving you the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and make a real impact.

As part of the team, you will:

  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support high-quality environmental assessments and project delivery
  • Prepare Environmental Impact Statements and related reports, translating technical information into clear, accessible language
  • Support project delivery by managing time effectively, balancing a varied workload, and assisting in organising project resources, budgets and schedules
  • Coordinate specialist input and fieldwork to ensure technical advice is integrated into project outcomes.

Qualifications

For this Environmental Planner position in our team, we require someone with:

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental planning, or environmental engineering
  • Environmental impact assessment experience across numerous market sectors and a good industry reputation.
  • Strong team player, confident communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Time management skills, using appropriate tools to manage your workload
