About the Role
As Coordinator Development Assessment, you will:
- Lead and supervise the planning team
- Assess and determine development applications in line with legislation and internal KPIs
- Provide expert planning advice to stakeholders
- Facilitate pre-lodgement meetings and strategic planning initiatives
- Represent Council in legal proceedings, including the NSW Land and Environment Court
- Monitor and improve internal planning processes
- Prepare high-quality reports and contribute to budget planning
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in statutory planning within local government
- Strong knowledge of NSW planning legislation
- Proven ability to assess complex development applications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Current Class C driver's licence
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or related field
- Experience mentoring or supervising staff
- Experience in planning appeals and court representation
- Eligibility for membership with the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA)
