About the Role

As a Plant Mechanic, you will:

• Inspect, maintain, and repair Council's vehicles, plant, and equipment
• Diagnose faults and perform cost-effective repairs
• Undertake maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure
• Apply trade skills in hydraulics, welding, air-conditioning, and more
• Conduct roadworthy inspections and ensure compliance with TfNSW regulations
• Maintain accurate records and support workshop operations

What You'll Need

Essential:

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle/Mobile Plant Technology or Light Vehicle Technology with ability to upgrade
• Class C Driver's Licence
• Safe Work NSW WHS General Construction Induction (White Card)
• Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills
• Ability to interpret technical documents and calculate material requirements

Desirable:

• Class HR Driver's Licence
• TfNSW Authorised Inspection Station Examiner's Certificate

• Licences or experience in:

• Automotive electrical and air-conditioning systems

• Fuel injection and hydraulics
• Welding and fabrication
• Forklift operation
